Your brain is signaled when a needle is inserted into your body.  The brain responds by activating neurotransmitters like endorphins and enkephalins, which stop pain and increase the feeling of well-being.

The brain also responds by increasing blood cell counts, in particular white blood cells.  This is particularly important for illnesses like colds, viruses, chronic fatigue, candida, and fibromyalgia.
